ARDA - Chapter 1 - Reborn with Hatred

In the dilapidated small courtyard, Jiang Ning lay paralyzed on the yellowed quilt, with unkempt hair and a miserable look on her face.

A mouse rustled across her body. She moved her eyelids but remained still.

A pair of broken legs have long been immobilized due to lack of medical treatment.

With a creak, the wooden door was pushed open, and a man in coarse linen clothes came in cursing.

"What bad luck! Cheap Commodity! Let me see if I don't beat you to death today!"

Jiang Ning's body trembled subconsciously.

The person who came was her husband Xu Yuanqing.

When he saw the half-dead Jiang Ning, he walked over and kicked her hard.

"Unlucky! Your sister got married to the Fourth Prince, and I just went to ask for a wedding drink, but I was kicked out in front of everyone!"

Jiang Ning curled up subconsciously, feeling pain when she was kicked, but she had nowhere to hide and could only bear everything with a dull expression.

She hurts, she hurts so much.

After two years of severe beatings, she now doesn't have a single piece of good flesh on her body.

"I knew it, how could the Marquis Mansion marry their young lady to me in the first place? It turned out that I, Xu Yuanqing, was so easy to fool! Damn, I'm getting more and more angry the more I think about it, tell me! What's the use of marrying you! I don't even have any money."

"If I can't get any more money, just wait and collect the corpse for me... You bitch! Useless thing!" Xu Yuanqing cursed, directing all his anger on her.

Jiang Ning trembled all over.

The word "Marquis Mansion" hit her heart hard, trying to awaken her embarrassing memories.

She covered her head in pain and avoided it.

She is the "real" daughter of the Marquis Mansion, but she grew up in the countryside. It was not until she was fourteen years old that she recognized her ancestors and was brought back to the Marquis Mansion.

And Jiang Mengyue, the "fake daughter" of the Marquis family, after taking her place for fourteen years, viciously ruined the rest of her life.

She remembered that when her reputation was ruined and no one dared to marry her, Jiang Mengyue looked at her in a condescending manner and said sternly, "Jiang Ning, do you think this is over? No, this is just the beginning!"

Then, the Jiang family found a scholar who had just arrived in the Capital and married her off.

This person is Xu Yuanqing.

"You are just a country bumpkin. If Jiang Mengyue hadn't said that if I marry you, all the dowry would belong to me, how could I possibly marry you!"

Xu Yuanqing cursed angrily and felt particularly annoyed. He raised his foot and kicked her waist hard several times.

"In the past, your own mother was kept in the dark and could still provide supplements. Now that she can't protect herself, what's the use of keeping you?"

Jiang Ning hugged his feet fiercely, "What did you say?"

Xu Yuanqing picked up the stick on the side and hit Jiang Ning on the head hard. "It's useless. Your mother offended the Marquis Mansion because of you, a loser. I'm afraid she won't be able to live for a few days. How about you mother and daughter meet on the road together?"

There was a bang in Jiang Ning's mind, and she felt cold all over.

It turns out that her mother did not give up on her!

Thinking of her dissatisfaction and resentment towards her mother before she got married, Jiang Ning choked in pain.

Bright red blood flowed down, and her vision was blurred...

The numbness of her eyes was gradually covered with anger and regret.

She hated it so much that it was because of her stupidity that her mother, who loved her dearly, fell from being the magnificent Marchioness to this.

She's not reconciled!

It hurt, the burning pain hit her limbs, making Jiang Ning groan involuntarily.

She slowly opened her eyes, and what she saw was the dilapidated earthen house and the shabby and worn-out tables and chairs. She was instantly startled.

Wasn't she beaten to death by Xu Yuanqing?

Her whole body felt sore, and she wanted to get up, but she found that her hands and feet were tied with hemp rope rubbing on her white wrist marking it with red marks.

She stared at her hands. Her hands were still intact, not broken, and her legs were also intact...

What's going on?

A woman's voice came from outside the door, "For five taels of silver, I'll sell Aning to you! This is the girl's deed of sale, and it's been stamped with her fingerprints."

Jiang Ning listened to the woman's words, and memories from many years ago flooded into her mind.

It's Zhao! Her aunt from the countryside.

Since the death of her adoptive parents, she has been living with her uncle.

She got up early and stayed up late every day to do endless work, and was beaten and scolded by her uncle's family.

It wasn't until she was fourteen that she learned that she was the real daughter of the Marquis family.

However, just the night before the Marquis Mansion sent someone, Zhao sold her.

In order to keep her innocence, she refused to obey and even hit her head against the wall.

Unexpectedly, when she opened her eyes she returned to the eve of going back to the Marquis Mansion, she was hit with joy and shock. This time she would never be as ignorant as in her previous life, let alone harm her mother again!

Jiang Ning glanced at the oil lamp on the table. She stood up with difficulty and moved over. She slowly brought her hands to the flames and used the fire to burn off the ropes binding her wrists.

There was a burning smell, and as the hemp rope burned, so did her skin and flesh.

Cold sweat broke out on her forehead from the pain, but she clenched her teeth and didn't cry out.

How can this little pain compare to the pain in her previous life...

Finally, the rope broke.

After untying the ropes around her hands and feet, she hid the ropes and lay back on the wooden bed.

With a creak, the old wooden door opened, and a plump, middle-aged man walked in.

"Little beauty, you're mine now."

The wooden door closed easily, and the man rushed over impatiently, trying to pull Jiang Ning's clothes.
