MFAW - Chapter 97 - Kneeling Down To Beg

The deep mountain in the easternmost part of Ningzhou City.

This place is different from other developed scenic mountains. The entire east side is designated as a nature reserve. Private vehicles are not allowed to enter within a hundred miles from the urban-rural fringe.

This mountain is composed of thousands of meters of mountains stretching north of the Yangtze River. It is located at the junction of three provinces. Because of the winding mountains, rich natural vegetation and diverse species, in addition to many precious plants, there are also wild animals.

The largest wildlife protection center in Jiangbei also exists here. Because no one is allowed to enter or leave, it is a very quiet place during the day. Now it is even quieter at night, and only the rustling of the leaves can be heard.

The sound of propellers resounded through the silent valley, and two black helicopters passed through the mountains. The huge airflow driven by the propellers stirred the leaves of the ancient trees and frightened the migratory birds that were roosting.

If you look carefully, you can see that the trajectory of one of the helicopters is high and low. There is a metal cage hanging vertically below it, and a human figure can be seen in the middle of the cage.

As the helicopter moved up and down, the cage was also brought up and down. The two metal chains hanging on it made a noise, as if they would break at any time, and the cage would fall to the cliff and be shattered into pieces.

Lillian took a sip of coffee amidst the rumbling sound, looked down at the person in the cage, and pursed her lips.

It's now 4:30 in the morning, and it will be dawn in two or three hours, so she guesses that they are almost there.

"Okay, find a gentle place to land, and I'll see if she's dead." She picked up the walkie-talkie and spoke.

Lillian looked at the woman who was hanging in the cage with her feet dangling in the air. She was probably scared to death at this moment. From the beginning with her desperate struggle, this person had stopped moving now.

The boss told her to do whatever she wanted, but she was not allowed to kill people, make them crazy, or cripple them. She can choose one.

But this person is too useless. She can't hold on for a while, which is boring.

"Don't have too much fun. The boss is already here and you can take the person down." Pan's voice came from the earphones.

Lillian drank the last sip of coffee from the cup and replied impatiently, "Okay, okay, I know, let's go down now."

The two helicopters circled the mountain for a while, and soon found an open space on the mountainside and stopped.

Wen Li leaned against the helicopter that had landed long ago and watched as the helicopter came to a stop and the cage landed steadily.

"Boss, she won't be dead, right?" Xia Chen looked at the woman in the cage with her head drooped and not breathing at all.

"Probably not." Pan touched his nose awkwardly.

Although he didn't understand much about these things, he had seen Lillian's methods before.

Because Lillian was originally sent to him by Wen Li to protect his safety. Because she was stepping down as the president of Nangtry Company, she chose Pan as her substitute, so she chose Lillian to be his personal bodyguard. After all, Lillian was from Evans.

She may have been a little harsh, especially after knowing that Mu Nuanxi was the one who threw Wen Li away from the Mu family, and she almost couldn't suppress her anger and chopped the person with a knife.

"Boss." Lillian jumped down from the helicopter.

Wen Li turned her head and glanced at the woman who was dragged out of the cage, "Dead?"

Lillian waved her hands hurriedly, "No, she just fainted. I remembered your instructions."

How dare she disobey the boss's orders and kill people privately.

"But this pampered daughter is really different. I just took her to the black market and she fainted twice. When the cage was lifted into the air just now, she couldn't scream anymore." Lillian explained very seriously.

There are a thousand ways to directly destroy her, but it is really difficult to torture her without letting her die.

Xia Chen held his forehead, Lillian really didn't know how to show mercy to her.

Wen Li walked forward and saw that Mu Nuanxi had been dragged out and thrown on the grass. Lillian raised her hand and the water on the hand of the person in front of her was splashed out. The person who had been poured in the face still did not move.

Lillian knelt down and touched her. Her face, hands and feet were cold, and her breathing was weak, which proved that she was still alive. She pinched her hard with her hands.

"Cough..." Mu Nuanxi took a deep breath and opened her eyes, panting hard.

Wen Li looked down at the person on the grass. Mu Nuanxi looked around and took two hard breaths after confirming that she was still alive.

When she lifted off, the soles of her feet were in the air, and only her two hands were cuffed. She could see the scenery at the bottom of the mountain. The high altitude was so cold that people shivered, but she was more afraid.

It is the fear of falling and being shattered to pieces at any moment.

"How do you feel?"

When Mu Nuanxi heard her voice, she raised her head and stared at the person in front of her fiercely, "If you want to kill me or cut me into pieces, it's up to you. What's the point of torturing me like this?"

As if hearing a big joke, Wen Li chuckled.

"Are you scared? So what? Aren't you still alive?"

Mu Nuanxi clenched her fists. She knew that Wen Li was mocking her, and she also knew that she would not be able to escape unscathed in the hands of this woman today.

Xia Chen found a folding chair and placed it behind Wen Li, then handed her a glass of water.

In such a deep mountain and old forest, Wen Li was sitting on a chair with a bright look, and even drinking water was served by someone. This was in sharp contrast to the dirty Mu Nuanxi on the ground, which was extremely ironic.

"This is the center of the entire mountain. It's four o'clock in the morning. I want to see how long it takes you to successfully get out from here." Wen Li looked at her.

Mu Nuanxi looked around. The place here were completely different from any tourist destination she had ever been to. The plants all lived according to their own growth habits. Everywhere she looked, there were towering woods. The dark night looked particularly eerie.

At this point, Mu Nuanxi knew that she would never be able to get out of such a place on her own strength.

It's better to just die here and suffer less torture.

"The fire in the research institute just now has been put out, and two corpses were taken out. One of them was confirmed to be Mu Kun's. If you walk faster, you might be able to catch up with your father's funeral." Wen Li slowly put down the water glass.

Mu Nuanxi's eyes widened, and her pupils dilated due to extreme emotion.

"You killed my dad!!" Mu Nuanxi struggled to remember to rush over from the ground, but was easily restrained and knelt in front of Wen Li.

"They died because of the explosion in the research institute. The liquid that ignited the research institute was brought there by your father himself. If you want to be resentful, what does it have to do with me if you dig your own graves?"

Mu Nuanxi stared at her, tears already falling from the end of her eyes, and her eyes were all red and bloodshot.

"You murderer, Wen Li, what does the death of your Wen family have to do with us? It was your father who offended someone and came to Ningzhou. If he hadn't brought your grandfather to Ningzhou, your grandfather would not have died.

Lillian almost couldn't help but kick her. She had performed so many tasks in Evans for so many years, and it was Mu Nuanxi who was still talking nonsense when she was about to die.

When her Mu family killed someone, she didn't blame the murderer, but she blamed the deceased for coming to the murderer.

What a weird idea.

"No matter what you say, nothing can change the outcome. I said I don't like wars of words. Now I have the upper hand. If you can't get out, I'm afraid you won't have time to see your father for the last time." Wen Li chuckled,

"I really regret that I just left you in the amusement park. If I had known this, I should have had you killed directly to avoid future troubles." Mu Nuanxi's voice was hoarse, with deep regret and hatred in her words.

For Nan Sheng, she abandoned this girl who was not related to her by blood. After Wen Li returned to Mu's house, Mu Nuanxi woke up from her dreams countless times.

She has regretted countless times why didn't she make a decisive move and let her grow up so big.

"You can be so vicious at the age of ten. I think you are really bad from heart to skin." Lillian said angrily.

"There is no regret medicine in the world, and you have no right to regret it. Remember to be careful when walking in the mountains. This is a wildlife reserve with many ferocious animals. You'd better cherish your life and go back alive to attend your father's funeral."

Wen Li raised her hand and released the hold on Mu Nuanxi. She struggled to get up, rushed forward desperately, stumbled and fell to the ground.

Soon she seemed to have figured it out, stood up with strength, gritted her teeth, ran back to Wen Li and knelt down with a thump.

"I beg you to let me go to my father's funeral. I will promise you whatever you want me to do after the funeral..." Mu Nuanxi kowtowed crazily.

Wen Li was unmoved, "You have tricked me so many times, and I only repay you once. It is already fair. If you leave early, you may be able to return before your father is buried."

Mu Nuanxi's forehead turned red from being rubbed by the weeds on the ground. There were also green grass and leaves on her clothes. She was completely different from the glamorous young lady before.

"It's impossible for me to leave from here no matter what. Wen Li, I beg you, please take me back for the sake of calling you sister."

Pan and Lillian were standing side by side. The woman in front of them was so pitiful that any man would feel pity for her.

But how many snake's tears were sincere?

"She's not stupid. She knows how to assess the situation and knows that she can't go back, so she can still ask for help." Lillian snorted.

It's a pity that it was too late to understand.

"Isn't this to attend her father's funeral?" Pan replied.

"I beg you." Mu Nuanxi couldn't help but kowtow.

Originally, the ground on the mountain was made of dirt, and people would not make much noise if they knocked on it. However, she actually used real strength, and her sound became heavier.

Xia Chen glanced at Wen Li quietly. The boss's expression did not change, not even a trace of compassion.

Thinking about it, this person must be very wrong.

"Whoever does something will always have to pay a price. This is your price." Wen Li finally spoke.

The hope on Mu Nuanxi's face was shattered. She moved quickly and snatched the dagger from the leggings of the man in black standing beside her, aiming it at her thigh.

"Wen Li, I know your heart is hard, and I'm sorry for you." After Mu Nuanxi said this, the dagger in her hand stabbed hard into her thigh.

The aorta was torn, scarlet blood spurted out, and the smell of blood filled the air for a moment.

She quickly pulled out the knife and stabbed again hard.

The people around him had seen strong winds and waves, and were not surprised by such a self-harming behavior.

Even if this person commits suicide now, she deserves it. Not to mention Lei Yuan's research institute, the nearby residents and the students in the dormitory will suffer.

Mu Nuanxi fell to the ground, her face pale, but her eyes were staring at Wen Li, "Is it okay now?"

In a trance, Wen Li seemed to see those eyes that were staring blankly. Wen Yanxing died that he couldn't even close his eyes.

Those words were lingering in her ears like a mantra, one after another, one after another.

She closed her eyes and said, "Throw her back to Mu's house."

Lillian and Pan were both a little surprised. According to the boss's past temperament, how could she let her go so easily? She had to let this person be eaten up by wild beasts in the mountains.

How could he send someone back to the Mu family so easily?

Mu Nuanxi smiled, looking at the stars above her head, tears falling from the corners of her eyes onto the grass.

"Dad..." She called softly.

Xia Chen followed Wen Li onto the helicopter. The propellers started and the air flowed eastward as the helicopter gradually rose into the sky.

He looked at the girl who was leaning on the seat with her eyes closed and said nothing, and silently poured hot water and handed it to her.

"Boss, are we going to Mu's house now?"

As soon as it gets dark, the Mu family will probably start getting busy.

"Go back to the hotel."

Xia Chen nodded, lowered his head and quietly took out his cell phone to send a message.

He has followed Wen Li during this period and has been able to judge the boss's mood based on her expression.

Now that the boss is acting like this, it's obvious that he's not in a good mood, and there's something different mixed into it that he can't tell.

Since he can't understand, it's better to find someone who can understand to persuade her.

The sky is turning white, and the warm orange sun is rising on the horizon. No matter how dark the night is, it will always pass, and dawn breaks, and it is a new day.

The Mu family stayed up almost all night. The two burned corpses found from Lei Yuan Research Institute were finally confirmed to be those of Mu Kun and Sun Min. The fire was so big that except for the entire research institute, other parts of the University of Science and Technology were not damaged at all.

Mu Chenyu helped Lu Xue return from the police station. After completing a simple investigation, Mu Kun's body was sent to the funeral parlor to await cremation.

The police also found Lei Yuan and Xu Mingjian. According to them, Mu Kun led people to force him to hand over the chip and a series of documents. After being refused, he became angry and burned down the entire institute.

In the chaos, Lei Yuan and Xu Mingjian escaped, but Mu Kun was not so lucky and trapped himself in a cocoon and died by his own hands.

The police are still investigating the detailed situation. The attention and severity of this case can be regarded as the highest in recent years.

Lu Xue fainted twice at the police station. After finally calming down, she was picked up by Mu Chenyu.

"We have prepared your father's funeral carefully. He never lost his dignity when he was alive, but now he has been burned beyond recognition. We have to let him go in glory." Lu Xue covered her mouth and cried.

Mu Chenyu patted his mother's back, his eyes were red, but after one night, he looked much older.

Aunt Ruan came out of the living room with someone, looking a little anxious, "Young Master, the eldest lady is back."

It was such a chaos last night that no one noticed that Mu Nuanxi was missing.

But half an hour ago, Mu Nuanxi was thrown back to the door of Mu's house. She was dirty, her clothes and pants were in tatters, her thighs were bandaged, and her face was bruised.

The doctor said that she had injured her leg and would not be able to walk or stand for a short period of time. But as soon as the eldest lady came back, she sat in the living room and cried, one after another, and she couldn't even be coaxed.

"Aunt Ruan, take someone to change the furnishings at home, and then arrange for someone to contact the funeral home and contact relatives and friends. The funeral will be held in two days." Mu Chenyu ordered.

Aunt Ruan nodded, "I know, I'll do it right away."

"Mom, let's go in first. Grandpa has to be cared." Mu Chenyu helped Lu Xue to the living room.

When Lu Xue saw her daughter sitting next to the sofa, her unbearable emotions burst out. She hugged her daughter and cried bitterly. The cries of the mother and daughter echoed in the living room, and the servants next to her heard it.

Mu Chenxing stood aside. The entire Mu family had become like this overnight. Of course he knew the problem.

"Brother, how can I help?" He walked to Mu Chenyu and asked.

In the blink of an eye, the wanton expression on Mu Chenxing's face turned into confusion. He knew what was going on in the Mu family.

Mu Chenyu patted his younger brother on the shoulder, "We can't leave the company without people, and we have to rely on you to take care of the family."

"Don't worry, I will take good care of them."

To this day, Mu Chenxing also knows that he can no longer act recklessly like before. Someone always needs to help Mu Chenyu and carry the entire Mu family up.

Mu Ting stood at the door of the room, looking at the old man gasping for breath on the bed, and quietly wiped his tears.

......

Hotel apartments in the city.

At eight o'clock in the morning, the housekeeper brought the prepared breakfast to the door. Before she could ring the doorbell, she saw the words "Do Not Disturb" on the LCD screen on the wall.

This was something the guest could control. She silently went downstairs with the plate in hand.

The third lady of the Mu family lives here, but the morning news just came out at 7:30 in the morning. The Lei Yuan Research Institute exploded. The two corpses taken out from inside seemed to belong to Mu Kun and his assistant.

The third lady of the Mu family hasn't gone out yet, maybe she's feeling sad.

When Fu Yuxiu arrived at the door, he saw the words "Do Not Disturb". He stopped knocking on the door and quickly entered the password.

The combination lock rang twice and then opened. Fei Ran stood quietly at the door without going in.

The light in the entire room was dim, and the curtains here were very dark. The man stepped into the room with long legs. When he entered the door, he saw a black windbreaker draped on the sofa.

Further inside, the door to the room was ajar, and the curtains were tightly closed to block all sunlight coming in from the outside world. The person on the bed was wrapped tightly in the quilt, even her head was buried in the quilt.

The shoes beside the bed were placed in a mess and twisted posture. Fu Yuxiu went to the bed and looked down at the person on the bed.

He leaned down and gently pulled the quilt. The person on the bed was very stubborn, and her hands wrapped in the quilt were even harder, as if she could not get out.

"Come out." He said softly.

The person on the bed was silent. The man was very good-natured. He sat on the edge of the bed and coaxed, "Come out first. Aren't you warm under the quilt?"

The person under the quilt was still silent. Fu Yuxiu raised his eyebrows. It was really unexpected that this girl would become like this.

Wen Li closed her eyes and wrapped the quilt tightly with her hands. According to what she knew about this man during this period, it was very likely that he would drag her out directly if his patience ran out.

However, the expected forceful action did not happen. Instead, there was a gentle force patting her back, as if coaxing her.

"Our little girl is angry. Take a good sleep and come out after you think about it. I will accompany you." Fu Yuxiu said very patiently.

Nan Sheng once said that this man was unprecedentedly patient with things he was interested in. This kind of perseverance even Nan Sheng could not compare to.

Fu Yuxiu raised his hand and turned down the temperature of the air conditioner in the room. Wrapped in the quilt like this, people would feel hot after a while.

In the dim room, a slender man sat beside the bed. On the huge bed, you could see the bulge wrapped in quilt. The handsome man moved softly, patting the person on the bed, as if coaxing a child.

The warm light from the bedside shone on his face, casting a shallow light on his handsome face.

Such soothing movement also quickly calmed Wen Li's restless heart.

While coaxing her, Fu Yuxiu asked someone outside to make some food. This little guy was always easy to coax, and the lack of food and salt was just an illusion. As long as she ate a piece of sweet food, he could get through anything.

An hour later, a hand suddenly stretched out from the quilt and gently held Fu Yuxiu's palm at his side.

He was stunned for a moment, then looked down and saw the small hand covering his own, with a smile on his delicate brows.

Not long after Wen Li stretched out her hand, she was picked up by the person.

The man didn't rush to lift the quilt and placed the person on his lap. A deep voice came into Wen Li's ears, "What's wrong?"

She pursed her lips and said nothing, staring at the complicated patterns on the quilt without saying a word.

"Are you tired? Come out and have a good sleep, okay?" The man hugged her and coaxed her.

Xia Chen also explained the situation when he informed Fei Ran. This little girl wouldn't be like this for no reason.

Maybe it has something to do with Mu Nuanxi, or maybe it's part of the reason. A little girl like her can become like this unless her own ideas are impacted.

"Did you miss them?" He suddenly said.

Wen Li was stunned. She didn't know since when, this man could always tell what she was thinking at a glance.

She is not a pretentious person, but she is not a stone either that has no emotions at all. She still has emotional fluctuations and feels lost.

Even someone like Mu Nuanxi would still bow her head for her father. Mu Kuiyuan would stand up for his son and give everything for his own child.

Wen Li's memory of her childhood was blurry, but she still remembered those sporadic words, which also contained her parents' expectations for her and their dreams for her future.

During these years of wandering around, she climbed through trash cans, slept in Qiaodong Park in winter, snatched ham sausages from wild dogs on the roadside, and was ridden as a horse by a well-dressed little boy on the roadside just for a piece of biscuit.

In order to survive, almost all dignity was lost.

When she was a child, she would wonder what her parents were like, and if they were alive, she wouldn't have to live such a life.

At night, the lights were on, but none of the lights in the houses were lit for her. There was no one in the world waiting for her to go home.

She had seen children traveling with their parents, and she envied the happy smiles on those children's faces. She wondered whether her birth was insignificant, so she was discarded.

If she behaved better, her parents would take her home.

But as day after day passed, her heart gradually became cold.

She has no experience with such things as family affection, and even it is just a concept to her, without any substantial difference.

Until she was taken in by the Jin family, she chose to leave after staying in the Jin family for three years. A series of experiences since then have refreshed Wen Li's understanding of the world.

Mu Nuanxi was a pampered child, and her father really loved her, so she was able to put aside her self-esteem and pride and kneel down to beg someone she hated.

Wen Li wondered if she might have been born and raised with the hopes of some people.

Fu Yuxiu raised his hand and easily peeled off the quilt from the person's body, looking at the exposed little face with flushed cheeks and messy hair.

He chuckled lightly and hooked the tip of her nose with his slender fingers, "I said, I stayed at your house for three days, and those three days were the most unforgettable three days in my life."

"When I was seriously injured, the little girl with braids stepped forward. Even though everyone was afraid of me, she stepped forward and held my hand even though she was scared. She told me that her father was a very good doctor and would definitely be able to cure me. At that time, I was thinking about what kind of family could raise such a delicate child.

Fu Yuxiu hugged her hand tightly, with a smile on his lips, "As I thought, your father is a very gentle man. Whether your mother cooked the food or pulled out the precious herbs he planted, there was always a smile on his lips.

For three days, everything in that home was filled with happiness and warmth. Wen Li's mother was not a very good cook, and although the food she cooked was not too hard to eat, it was certainly not delicious.

But they never heard complaints at the family dinner table. Wen Xuqian even stuffed him with bread secretly, asking him not to tell her that his wife's cooking was unpalatable.

Wen Li's mother had the habit of sending letters, but she always couldn't figure out the sending and receiving addresses and the letters were returned by the postman. The man would always look helpless and rewrite the envelopes for the returned letters before sending them out.

When Wen Xuqian begged him, he said, "I don't want her to feel that she can't do anything well."

She is not a perfect woman, she is always in a hurry in everything she does, but she is the best person in the eyes of that man.

But the woman who seemed to be unable to do anything well was able to educate Wen Li with a fierce face when she made mistakes and instill the correct ideas into her daughter.

"They are all very warm and nice people, and they love you very much. They will hold your hand for a walk after dinner, take you to pick sunflowers, play games with you, and tell you stories. No matter what happened in the past, you are a child from such a family. Before the first half of your life was shattered, there were people like that who worked hard to protect you.

Those few days at the Wen family were also his salvation and the only ray of light that shone into his dark life.

"When I left the Wen family, I went to your father and told him that as a reward for helping me, I would grant him a wish."

Later, Wen Xuqian only said one sentence, hoping that the young man brought back by his daughter could also have the power to warm others.

This sentence made Fu Yuxiu think about it for a long time.

It's a pity that Fu Yuxiu, who came back, never found the little girl who lit up his life, and how could he find the ability to warm others.

Now, in a state of confusion, the little girl who lit up his life is back again.

"I will always be with you. What others have, you will only have more. As long as you open your mouth, I will flock them to you from all over the world." He moved up and placed his thin lips on the girl's forehead and kissed her softly.

The little girl in Fu Yuxiu's arms made a move, stretched out her hand from the quilt with a whisper, and wrapped her arms around the man's lean waist.

He was stunned for a while, and felt the little girl's hand holding him very hard. She leaned forward again, rubbed her cheek against his collarbone, closed her eyes and made no movement again.

Feeling something was wrong, Fu Yuxiu raised his hand and put it on her forehead, his palm feeling hot.

The hand holding him was very strong, and Wen Li raised the corners of her lips in a daze, feeling reassured.

Feiran was urgently arranged to go to Nan's house and call a doctor. Only then did he find out that the young master's beloved had a fever.

Miss Wen Li was a doctor herself and detoxified the young master. Why didn't she feel anything when she was sick? Unless she didn't want to take care of it.

Feiran took the family doctor to check Wen Li, and the doctor gave him a fever-reducing injection and left some medicine.

He raised his eyebrows, and the little girl with her eyes closed tightly hugged their young master's waist throughout the whole process and didn't let go. The young master looked like he was enjoying it and didn't mind that it was a burden at all.

During the injection, he coaxed softly in her ear and kissed her face to comfort her.

Just because Miss Wen Li's brow moved when the needle tip penetrated, the doctor almost missed his sight.

Their young master pampered Miss Wen Li as a treasure. He touched her and felt extremely distressed.

Feiran led the family doctor out and when he closed the door, he could still see the young master lowering his head to feed her water.

The movement of holding her was like holding the whole world.

Some people's feelings are hot and strong, but they can also be gentle. Of course, this always depends on the situation.

The young master has been fooled, and he has been fooled completely. A fool for love.
